Prawn and Prawn Fisheries of India, Fifth Edition

The book is the outgrowth of deep and active interest the authors have had in prawns fisheries, actively pursued over a few decades. In addition to their own work, they have drawn upon the existing literature in the field and informal discussions with research workers in the areas of their specialisation.

The book has been received warmly as an excellent reference book for the students of Fishery Science and research workers, and also as a guide to the prawn culturist. As a result, four editions and several reprint runs of the book had to be brought out.

In the present fifth edition, the book has been further enlarged and updated. This edition has undergone a total revision. Most chapters are rewritten, diagrams are redrawn and species are described, based on their most recent international nomenclature. A lot of redundant legends are deleted and new information added.
