About The Author
J. P. Jain was a Principal Scientist and formerly Head, Division of Statistical Research in Animal Sciences at the Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi.
Dr. Jain obtained his MA in Mathematics in 1954 and was awarded the postgraduate diploma in Agricultural Statistics of ICAR in 1963. While in the USA during 1968 and 1969 on Andre Mayer fellowship of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, he took MS degree in Animal Husbandry from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Delhi in 1976.
Dr. Jain has about 30 years of research and teaching experience in statistical genetics and has published over hundred research papers in Indian and foreign research journals. In addition, he has guided more than a dozen postgraduate students during his tenure.
