This is a pioneering attempt in the field of comparative management practices in Asia. If the efforts to globalize Indian operations are to bear fruit, it would need more than just attempts at liberalisation of our economy liberalisation of administration processes and creation of knowledge wherewith all will have to go hand in hand.
This book on ‘Organisation Futures’ amongst other things has significant contributions from Sri Lanka, Malaysian, Taiwanese, Indian experiences. An overall Asian view is also attempted as is an effort made to classify some conceptual issues.
The volume shall be found useful by anyone seeking to adjust to changes taking place around us, especially those who believe in continuously updating their mindsets. About the Editor
Vinayshil Gautam is Dalmia Chair Professor of Comparative Management and first Head of Management Studies Department IIT (D). He is the founder coordinator of the Dalmia Foundation supported Research Programme on Management in Asia. He has been offered the post of Project Director/First Director of the fifth National Institute in the chain of Indian Institutes of Management being set up at Calicut. Widely published, extensively traveled, and a recepient of several academic honours, worldwide, Dr Gautam is highly respected for his contributions to the field of Organisation Management, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship studies. He is the President-elect of Asian Region Training and Development Organisations and has management intervention experiences in India and abroad. He is a member of various national and international expert committees.
Dr. Gautam is the General Editor of Researches in Management in Asia: Series and the editor of this volume on “Organisational Futures.”
